Almost time to pack

We are getting so excited! We leave on Saturday afternoon on Jan. 5th. We had a little snafu with getting our visa's, but those should arrive by Friday. I can't believe how the past few weeks have flown by. I am going to do a test run on packing this weekend. I am sure we will go over the weight limit though! How do you pack for 1-2 months in -10 degrees weather? Very carefully. If all goes well, we will meet our little Angel on Tuesday, Jan. 8th in the afternoon or on Wednesday morning. I have butterflies. What will she look like? What will her little laugh sound like when we tickle her feet? Will we bond right away? So many questions. We did get a video camera and new digital camera for Christmas (thanks to Tim's parents, thank you!) so we are armed for plenty of photo ops. It would be really neat if they let us tape our first moments meeting her. How special!
Happy New Year everyone! 2008 is going to be an amazing year for us. Keep checking the blog for our first update when we arrive. I truly hope the uploading of photos goes smooth over there.
Please send some prayers our way that all goes well with travel and everything else.

Patiently waiting.....

Cali is patiently waiting for her new sister to come home! Don't worry Cali, soon enough you will have someone disturbing your long cat-naps and little sticky hands trying to hold you. Patience...

We got the Letter of Invite!!!

I attached this picture because it means so much to us. Most of you know all about our three year struggle and heartbreak that Tim and I have had with not having children naturally. That is now over because in March 2007 we decided to adopt a baby girl! We have hit a few bumps along the road, but we got our official letter yesterday to travel to Kazakhstan! (you might have to look that one up on a map, I know I sure had to!) We will be traveling on January 7th. We are hoping to bring back our little Angel, before March next year. We will probably have to stay in-country for 7-8 weeks.

We are so excited and feel blessed to have this opportunity. This is my first time blogging, so you will have to bear with me on typos and photo malfunctions. I will do my best! Please follow us through this amazing journey.
